How to Have a Relaxing Evening

Hello there!

As I'm sure many of you know, the holidays can be lots of fun but also lots of stress! I have been feeling it myself recently, especially since I have been prepping for my trip to Costa Rica. On top of buying presents, dealing with crazy people at the mall, and traveling, I have to make sure I have all the supplies I need for the trip, oh, and write a few papers and read a book in the next few days! 

To make sure I'm taking care of myself and not letting the stress get the best of me, I decided to treat myself to a relaxing evening. Here are a few ways to treat yourself and beat the stress of the season!


1. Take a hot bubble bath


It's not very often that I get to take a hot bubble bath but they are a great way to relax your muscles and your body. I lit some candles, turned down the lights, and took in the warmth that it provided. I didn't have any bath bombs or other Lush products to add, but they are great way to make your bath even more relaxing.

2. Turn on some peaceful tunes


While I was relaxing in my bath, I went on Spotify, searched relaxing music, and picked a playlist that I thought I would like. I like piano music when I want to relax but you can turn on whatever type of music that makes you feel relaxed and at peace.

3. Treat your skin


If you are like me, your skin loves to break out when you're stress so it's important to give it even more care. While I was in the bathtub, I gave myself a mud mask to draw out all the dirt and impurities clogging my pores. It even smelled really great too! To get even more impurities out of your skin, Bioré strips and other sheet masks are also great products. While taking my bath, I took extra time to shave my legs thoroughly and put moisture back into my skin using a shave gel. When I was done, I applied my all-time favorite body lotion, the Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion. My legs felt so soft and smooth afterwards!

4. Give yourself a mani-pedi


When I'm busy, I often neglect my nails, letting them chip and crack. But, I always feel really good when I have a fresh coat of nail polish on my nails so I decided to treat myself to a mani-pedi. The color shown here is Malaga Wine by OPI and it is the perfect Christmas color.

5. Netflix and chill


Grab that popcorn and get comfy! I love to unwind after a long day by enjoying some Netflix and snuggling in my warm bed. Find a good show or movie, relax, and enjoy!
