Adventures to come!

Hello there!

I have some news...

My boyfriend, Steve and I decided to treat ourselves to this trip as post-graduation celebration for completing college. As Steve is starting his actuary job soon and I'm trying to sort out my post-grad life, who knows the next time we will be able to take a trip like this. Also, I'm really excited because Steve has close family there so it will be my first opportunity to meet them.

I'm really excited to experience Swiss culture and practice my German [and use my French minor in Geneva] that I have been learning for the past year. I also can't wait to eat way to much cheese, pastries, and fresh bread and drink wine, beer, and so much coffee...my mouth is watering already!

My bags are packed and ready to go but I thought I would share with you my style inspiration for the trip and some outfits I plan on recreating on the trip. All of this can be found on my Pinterest account here

Also, since I'm trying to pack light, I'm not bring my laptop with me so I won't be blogging the trip. I will however be post Instagram pictures whenever I have access to wifi to give updates. Click here to see it and give me a follow if you'd like! :)
Tschüss und au revoir!

April Favorites

Hello there!

I'm a little late in the game but here is my April favorites post. Spring is finally here and I hope the April showers stay away! I ready for some warmer weather and sun! Anyways, April was a crazy good month so I'll share some of my favorites.

Rifle Paper Co. iPhone phone case - I decided it was time for a new phone case and I have been eyeing this one at a local boutiques in Oxford for weeks! Rifle Paper Co. makes the cutest things so I had to get my hands on it! It's pretty protective but I wouldn't recommend throwing it across the room.

Sam Edelman sandals - Over spring break, I was on the hunt for some new sandals for spring and summer and boy, are these a new favorite! The two toned straps are perfect to match any outfit. They're super comfortable and I got them on sale at DSW! They also came in black and a cute coral color.

Go Be Lovely perfume in Thai lily - This perfume is just spring in a bottle. I have been wearing it for a few months now and I've been loving it. It's very floral and feminine which is what I prefer in perfumes.

Genocide and Holocaust Education and Prevention Month - April became Genocide and Holocaust Education and Prevention Month at Miami and in Oxford because of the hard work of the Genocide and Holocaust Education committee that I joined this year. We had a great month of events such as a film series, a public lecture, a community dinner, and a reading of the names program. I'm really proud of all our work and I can't wait to see what the committee does next year.

My College Apartment Room

Hello there!

I'm really excited for today's post! I have been wanting to share my college apartment room since the fall but I wanted to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. And of course, it's in the final days I have left in my apartment. Better late than never I guess! In fact, as I am writing this, everything has been moved out and I'm sleeping on a blow up mattress now!

I have been in love with my room since I moved in last year. I love the hardwood floors, the open closet, and the big windows that let in sooo much natural light. I wanted the decor to play off those elements so I went with white furniture and bedding. I added some glitz by accessorizing with gold and silver accents. I also wanted it to have a personal touch so I have a bunch of knickknacks from travels, favorite books, and other cute trinkets. I really love how it turned out!

I hope this was inspirational for anyone moving to an off-campus house or apartment next year! You don't have to break the bank either when looking for decor. Homegoods, Hobby Lobby, Bed bath and Beyond, and Target are great places to find inexpensive but cute pieces. Also, doing some DIY projects is fun and adds a personal touch as well.

My Current Makeup Routine

Hello there!

Today, I thought it would be fun to do a first for my blog and talk about my makeup routine! YAY!

Since I was a preteen, I have had a love for makeup. I would even try to recreate the looks from the makeup segment of What Not to Wear by experimenting with my mom's makeup collection (sorry, mom). As I went into high school, I toned down the colors I used and opted for more neutral looks, which I still love doing today.

My go-to look has definitely changed over the years but it always remains simple, quick, and as natural as possible. Here it is!
The Steps

The Face:
1. Apply CC cream and blend
2. Apply concealer to under eyes & blemishes and blend
3. Apply powder all over face & neck and blend
4. Apply blush and highlight

The Eyes:
5. Define brows and blend
6. Apply neutral eyeshadow
7. Curl lashes
8. Apply mascara

And voila!

What are some of your favorite makeup products?

Splurge or Steal?

Hello there!

Long time, no post! My final semester of college has been so crazy that I haven't had much time to blog or even think about blogging. I'm currently on spring break so I thought this would be a great time to catch up! I'm back with another post today and let me tell you, I'm really excited about this one!

If you're anything like me, you love a good deal. Just the word "sale" can make my heart race. But sometimes, sales can be hit or miss with finding good items. However, lately, I have been able to find some really great, inexpensive pieces online that dupe for some pretty popular, yet pricey items! Can you tell which is the splurge and which is the steal?
